Jonnathan Ramos

Mr. Ramos is the dedicated assistant principal of Baumholder Middle High School, located within the Baumholder Military Community at United States Army Garrison (USAG) Baumholder. Since his appointment in 2023, Jonnathan has been instrumental in fostering a positive educational environment that meets the unique needs of the military-connected students. With a strong commitment to academic excellence and student well-being, he brings varied instructional leadership experience to his role, contributing significantly to the school’s ongoing academic success.

Originally from Miami, Florida, Mr. Ramos has a solid academic foundation. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science from Florida International University. Driven by a passion for education and leadership, he furthered his studies at Nova Southeastern University, where he obtained a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership. Mr. Ramos began his teaching career in 2007 as an elementary school teacher in Homestead, Florida. His journey with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) began in 2021, where he taught 5th grade students at Ramstein Intermediate School in Germany.

Throughout his career, Mr. Ramos has taken on various school improvement leadership roles. He has served as a grade level chairperson and was the Continuous School Improvement Chairperson during an accreditation year in which the DoDEA Europe East School District received the prestigious Cognia Schools and Systems of Distinction award, recognizing the district’s commitment to excellence in education. In 2023 he continued advancing his leadership experience as the assistant principal of Baumholder Middle High School.

A proud Army veteran, Mr. Ramos served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, bringing a unique perspective to his role in the education of military-connected youth. He is married to an educator who shares his dedication to serving the military community, and together they are raising two daughters, instilling in them the same values of service and commitment that define their own lives.
