Accelerated Withdrawal Date with PCS
An accelerated withdraw is taken into consideration for students whose sponsors need to withdraw them from a DODEA school due to permanent change of station orders. This is only for students who meet the following criteria:

Principal is authorized to approve an accelerated withdrawal of active-duty military and Department of Defense civilian dependent students from school 20 or fewer instructional days prior to the end of a semester. DoDEA policy recognizes that families are occasionally required to move prior to the end of the school year, and school-age dependents should not be penalized educationally for PCS moves. The 20-day limit provides reasonable flexibility without compromising academic standards or placing the student in an untenable position regarding mastery of curriculum content.

The policy requires verification of the date of sponsor’s departure, i.e., PCS or other official orders, to school officials to receive consideration for full academic credit.Â

The accelerated withdrawal dates for SY 2024-2025 are as follows:Â

*Most DoDEA-E Schools: December 6, 2024 (First Semester) and May 12, 2025 (End of SY). Students must be in school all day on the last school day prior to the accelerated withdrawal date (December 5 and May 9, respectively).
