Kirkland named First-Team All-Europe

After a successful senior campaign, Baumholder senior Leo Kirkland has more hardware to add to his trophy case.

The guard picked up First-Team All-Europe honors for the first time in his basketball career.

Kirkland averaged 15.5 points, 12.2 rebounds and 4.8 steals per game en route to the Division III European Championship for the Buccaneers. He was one of two seniors on the roster and was the defensive anchor of the team, along with being the team’s top playmaker. 

The All-Europe Team is apprised of all the best of the three divisions – Division I, Division II, and Division III.

The Buccaneers went 13-6 this season but finished the season strong, taking home the championship. Kirkland was also named the All-Tournament Team and the Division III Tournament MVP.
