A message from our new principal

Dear Buccaneer Families,

I hope the first few days of school were filled with positive connections and memorable learning experiences for your child(ren).  The start of the school year can bring much excitement and many challenges. I want to recognize the team on site at BMHS for their hard work and commitment to supporting a strong start to the school year for every student.  I am excited to continue this important work throughout the school year and look forward to officially joining the BMHS team in a few weeks.

As I transition into my new role, a focus will be on listening and learning – working to understand what makes our school and community special, while also exploring the opportunities for growth.  I look forward to meeting you soon and beginning my new adventure as a Buccaneer!

Go Bucs!

Welcome back, Bucs

Baumholder Middle High School has officially launched the 2025–2026 school year, and what a fantastic start it’s been! Our Back to School Week 2025 was a resounding success, filled with energy, excitement, and a true sense of community.

Throughout the week, students engaged in activities designed to help them get oriented with the school, connect with their teachers, and—most importantly—begin building friendships that we hope will last a lifetime. From the very first day, the halls were buzzing with introductions, laughter, and even a few joyful tears as parents dropped off their students. It was a beautiful reminder of how meaningful this journey is for our families.

We kicked off the week with a fun and creative activity: students made personalized name tents to introduce themselves in each class. This simple gesture sparked conversations and helped everyone feel seen and welcomed. Technology was also on our side—almost every student had a working laptop on day one, and by the end of the week, every Buccaneer was fully equipped and ready to learn.

One thing we noticed right away: “Land Navigation” must be a family tradition in our community! Students moved confidently from classroom to classroom, showing impressive awareness and independence. It’s clear that our families prepare their children well for success.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible dedication of our faculty and staff. Many of them gave up part of their summer to prepare, and their tireless efforts in the days leading up to the first bell ensured that every student felt welcomed, supported, and ready to thrive.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our military partners. Your continued support plays a vital role in making BMHS the strong, vibrant school it is. Your commitment to our students and families is deeply appreciated.

As we look ahead to the rest of the school year, I’m filled with optimism and excitement. With such a strong start, there’s no doubt that 2025–2026 will be a year of growth, achievement, and unforgettable memories.

Thank you all for being part of our Buccaneer family.

GO BUCS!!!

Safety First!

ScienceClass

The Baumholder seventh grade class got ready for a hands-on year in science class by putting on safety presentations to their peers.

The students now know how to handle materials and to use proper safety equipment for a fun year!

Traffic gate still affected

Due to an ongoing event near the golf course, all inbound traffic to get to Baumholder Middle High School is diverted to Gate 4, through the Rolling Hills Golf Course.

All vehicles must still exit Wetzel Kaserne via the Lower Wetzel Gate to Rohrbacher Weg which leads to the Esso Gas Station on Berschweilerstrasse.

We’re excited to share that DoDEA has won the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Publications and Digital Media Excellence Award – Website Award of Merit for our School Newsletters Project! This NSPRA award honors outstanding school communication efforts that help connect schools with their communities. This wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our amazing school webmasters. Thank you for keeping families connected with your hard work and heart!
