Baumholder Middle High School welcomed a new face with a unique background to its faculty this summer.
Mr. Benjamin Davis is a new science teacher for our Buccaneers as he enters his eighth year teaching.
Mr. Davis earned a degree in Physics with an emphasis in Nuclear Energy from Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he originally studied to be a nuclear physicist but was bitten by the teaching bug.
“I love helping students reach the ‘aha’ moment, especially after working on a challenging task,” he said. “That sudden realization that they understand the subject matter really pumps me up
I’m especially excited to teach physics. I originally studied to become a nuclear physicist, not a teacher, so any chance I get to teach physics feels like a great day!”
Mr. Davis moved to Baumholder from Oakley, Idaho, a small town located on the border of Nevada and Idaho.
“I really like working here at Baumholder MHS,” he said. “The students have been amazing, and I love seeing their excitement to learn. The staff have also been absolutely fantastic. I have felt a lot of support from them as I transition into this new role.”
Mr. Davis is excited to make science as hands-on as possible, teaching seventh grade science and 11th grade physics.
Outside of the classroom, he plans to get involved in creating the best environment for his new community.
“I’m excited to be part of this awesome community, and I look forward to investing my time and talents to contribute wherever I can,” he said.
Traffic gate still affected
Due to an ongoing event near the golf course, all inbound traffic to get to Baumholder Middle High School is diverted to Gate 4, through the Rolling Hills Golf Course.
All vehicles must still exit Wetzel Kaserne via the Lower Wetzel Gate to Rohrbacher Weg which leads to the Esso Gas Station on Berschweilerstrasse.
