Class of 2026 signs out for last time
Wednesday marked the final day of classes for the Senior Class of 2026, and Baumholder Middle High School sent them off in style.
The students, faculty, and staff greeted them in the hallways with cheers and applause as they departed the school for the final time.
On Thursday, the Seniors hopped in decorated vehicles and drove around Smith Barracks in a Senior Parade for a chance to celebrate with the community. Thank you to all the parents and staff that made it happen.
Graduation is on June 3 and can be livestreamed here if you are unable to attend in person.
Strength and conditioning available this summer
Baumholder Middle High School aims to keep their student-athletes healthy and competitive, and part of that will be summer strength and conditioning.
The high school gym and weightroom will be available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1130-1300 for students to work out and improve their fitness starting on June 15. Students will follow a program created to meet their needs and level of fitness. Everyone at different stages of strength and conditioning are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
VALID PHYSICALS ARE REQUIRED TO PARTCIPATE.
Strength and conditioning is a standard for most schools in DoWEA and in the United States. We need to give our student-athletes the same opportunities as any other high schooler.
Injuries were an issue last season across all sports, and nearly 60 percent could have been prevented with proper strength and conditioning.
In your email, a bus schedule should have been attached for if your student needs a ride. The Teen Center is also open from 1300-1800 throughout the summer with transportation back to Smith Barracks in the evening, if needed. Students are required to sign in every day, so you could reach out to find out if your student attended a particular day. The school is open during the summer, if you need to reach the weightroom via telephone.
If you have any questions about the program, please reach out to Coach Schoonover (chris.schoonover@dodea.edu).
